The Kunsthalle Fridericianum is starting the new year full of energy with a series of exciting events: The exhibitions Nuevos Ricos by Carlos Amorales and THE VALUE OF VOID by Navid Nuur will be accompanied by concerts and an artist talk, unusual exhibition tours, workshops and discussions.

Nuevos Ricos live in concert
On Friday 15 January 2010 Carlos Amorales’ abstract concert hall will take on concrete form: Felix Kubin , one of the most prominent representatives of the label Nuevos Ricos, will activate the exhibition space with experimental sci-fi pop, dadatronic sounds and video streams. His performances have been described as “noise, rhythm, melody and madness” (Aavikko, Finland) and the “Devil in God’s clothes” (These Records, UK). The concert begins at 10 p.m, the exhibitions open at 9 p.m.

In February the musician, artist and filmmaker Dick El Demasiado will take the Nuevos Ricos stage. El Demasiado, who was born in the Netherlands, is considered the “godfather of digital Cumbia”, a type of music developed in the 1990s as an electronic variant of Colombian Cumbia dance music. In his music, Dick El Demasiado crosses the borders of traditional rhythms, pursuing an experimental style between rock and electro.
The concert takes place on Friday, 12 February 2010 at 10 p.m.

Navid Nuur: artist talk and edition
Within the framework of his exhibition THE VALUE OF VOID Navid Nuur will talk with independent curator Mihnea Mircan and Rein Wolfs, the artistic director of the Kunsthalle Fridericianum, about his exhibition, his artistic concept and his mode of working. In addition, video works by Navid Nuur will be shown.
Wednesday, 27 January 2010, 6 p.m.

A signed edition of 96, consisting of four works by Navid Nuur in Din A5 size, is available at the Kunsthalle Fridericianum. The price of 50 Euros will be fully used for his next publication.

Am Freitag 15. Januar 2010 wird Carlos Amorales’ abstrakte Konzerthalle konkret: Felix Kubin , einer der prominentesten Vertreter des Labels Nuevos Ricos, aktiviert mit�seinen experimentellen Sci-Fi-Popmusik, Dadatronic-Kl�ngen und Video-Streams den Ausstellungsraum. Seine Performance wird als „noise, rhythm, melody and madness“ (Aavikko, Finnland) und „Devil in Gods clothes“ (These Records, UK) bezeichnet.�Das Konzert beginnt um 22 Uhr, die Ausstellungen sind ab 21 Uhr ge�ffnet.

Im Februar steht der Musiker, K�nstler und Filmemacher Dick El Demasiado auf der Nuevos Ricos -B�hne. Der geb�rtige Niederl�nder gilt als ‚Godfather of Digital Cumbia’, einer Musikrichtung, die sich in den 1990er Jahre als elektronische Variante aus der kolumbianischen Cumbia-Tanzmusik entwickelte. Dick El Demasiado �berschreitet musikalisch die Grenzen der traditionellen Rhythmen und verfolgt einen experimentellen Musikstil zwischen Rock und Electro. Das Konzert findet am Freitag 12. Februar 2010 um 22 Uhr statt.

Navid Nuur: Artist Talk und Edition
Im Rahmen seiner Ausstellung THE VALUE OF VOID spricht Navid Nuur mit dem Kurator Mihnea Mircan und Rein Wolfs, dem k�nstlerischen Leiter der Kunsthalle Fridericianum, �ber seine Ausstellung, sein k�nstlerisches Konzept und seine Arbeitsweise. Erg�nzend werden Videoarbeiten von Navid Nuur zu sehen sein.

Eine signierte Edition bestehend aus vier DinA5-gro�en Arbeiten von Navid Nuur ist in einer Auflage von 96 Exemplaren in der Kunsthalle Fridericianum erh�ltlich. Der Preis betr�gt 50 Euro, die Einnahmen nutzt der K�nstler f�r seine�n�chste Publikation.
